Capital gain on sale of land invested in residential houses

Hi,
My mother sold a land with that money she bought 2 residential houses and carried out renovation work to make them suitable for living. She never had any residential property on her name before.
Could ple tell me whether she has to pay any capital gains tax for the sale of land?
